Business is Boomin' Exhibit

History Cherokee presents the latest temporary exhibit "Business is Boomin': Historic Business Communities!" Located in the Byron L. Dobbs Gallery, this museum exhibit features photographs, objects, and stories from businesses in Nelson, Canton, Woodstock, Ball Ground, Holly Springs, Waleska, and all across the county.

The growth of Cherokee County and its many communities has been supported by the businesses that were born here. From teenagers gathered at a soda shop to an older generation playing checkers at the general store - commercial establishments served as meeting places, locations to share news and gossip, suppliers of daily necessities, and as the backbone of the local economy. Take a walk down memory lane in this temporary exhibition showcasing some of the historic businesses of Cherokee County.
