Volunteering

Volunteering through History Cherokee is an experience that not only enriches the lives of our visitors but yours as well. Volunteers engage with the community through a variety of opportunities, including:

  • Docents to help with group tours and school programming (this could involve leading a tour, assisting with an activity, or just being available in the galleries to answer questions)
  • Hosts/Greeters/Check-in for special events and programs
  • Special Events such as the Kentucky Derby Day Fundraiser or Holiday Tour of Homes
  • Membership Banquets
  • Research
  • Prepping supplies for school groups
  • Helping to prepare mailings
  • Assisting at a community event on behalf of History Cherokee (such Juneteenth, Cherokee County 5K, Denim Fest, and more)

There will be Volunteer recognition for Volunteer of the Year, and Recognition for most hours volunteered during the year. There will also be volunteer activities such as trips, volunteer luncheon(s), and other special activities.
