Homes Tour

You can choose to tour on Friday evening from 5 to 9 p.m., where you’ll enjoy the homes and buildings lit up after dark for a festive glow.

Alternatively, explore the sites during the day on Saturday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. The total distance between the tour locations is about one
mile, and shuttle buses will be available for your convenience. This event will take place rain or shine.

Volunteers are still needed as docents in homes, to help with providing directions and information, and more. All volunteers will receive one free ticket to the Holiday Tour of Homes.

Frequently Asked Questions

​What is the Holiday Tour of Homes?

The Holiday Tour of Homes invites guests into private historic homes fully decorated for the holiday season. Guests can view the beautiful decorations and unique architecture of each home and learn a little about each home’s history. In addition to the private homes, two businesses located in historic buildings will be decorated and available for guests to view.

When will the home tour take place?

The Holiday Tour of Homes will take place the first weekend in December on Friday night and during the day on Saturday.

Where will the home tour take place?

This year the home tour will showcase homes and businesses in historic downtown Canton.

Are only houses on the tour?

No! Two historic Public Buildings and the Cherokee County History Center will be open for touring as well.

What times are the tours?

Tour homes will be open:

  • December 6, 2024 5:30pm - 8:30pm
  • December 7, 2024 10:00am - 5:00pm

How much are tickets?

Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 the day of the tour. Advance ticket sales end on December 4.

Do you offer children’s tickets?

Due to the nature of the tour, children under 8 are not permitted. We apologize for the inconvenience!

How can I purchase tickets?

You may purchase tickets online, in person at the Cherokee County History Center or by phone (call 770-345-3288). Tickets are not available at tour homes or businesses.

Will you mail my tickets to me?

No tickets will be mailed. All tickets purchased will be held at the Cherokee County History Center. You may pick them up in advance or the day of the tour. Tickets will be available for pick up beginning Wednesday, December 4.

Is transportation provided for the tour?

Shuttle transportation is provided and shuttles run about every 15-20 minutes in a continuous route. More information about Shuttle Bus pickups will arrive (*bu dum, tssss*) at a later date. Most of the tour is walkable. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes.

Where do I park?

Parking is available in downtown Canton both on street and in the City of Canton parking deck.

Do I have to see all of the homes in one day?

Tickets are good for Friday and Saturday, but you can only visit each home once.

Do I have to tour the homes in a certain order? Do I have to stay with a group?

No! You are free to tour the homes in any order you choose, and all tours are self-guided. There will be docents inside the homes pointing out special features and the history of the homes.
