Life's a Stitch showcases handmade goods by local artisans, both historic and modern, from quilts and handsewn clothing to crafting tools and a historic cotton loom. Join author & director of the Tellus Science Museum Jose Santamria at the Cherokee County History Center on April 25th at 7pm to learn all about the Georgia Gold Rush, the origin and geology of Georgia’s gold deposits, first discoveries of the metal, mining methods, boom and then bust, winners and losers, and how the gold rush changed the course of history. What’s Up Wednesday (WUW) is a monthly program designed for preschoolers and children between the ages of 3-7. Featuring a different theme each month, we’ll be learning about an interesting museum artifact, and then enjoy a related story, activity, or craft. WUW educational programming will start at 11am at the Cherokee County History Center located at 221 E. Marietta St., Canton, GA 30114. Each program lasts approximately 1 hour. Admission for this program is $5.00 per child and covers the entirety of the program. Admission to the Cherokee County History Center is not included. Registration is recommended but not required.
