22nd Annual Kentucky Derby Day
For the past 21 years, Kentucky Derby Day has served as History Cherokee's largest annual fundraising event. The event takes place on the first Saturday in May and features a variety of activities and experiences, including:
- Bourbon tastings
- Hat contest
- Pony pull
- Silent auction
- Gourmet food & specialty cocktails

Derby Day is not only a fun event that the community looks forward to every year, it is a crucial event that provides funding for History Cherokee to fulfill its mission.
History Cherokee's 22nd Annual Kentucky Derby Day is happening Saturday, May 3, 2025 at the Mill on Etowah from 4:30 - 7:30 p.m.
