Last year, we made history by opening the Cherokee County History Center in the heart of downtown Canton. The project took years in the making and required over $4.5 million from grants, foundations, and most importantly, our community members. Your support gave us the opportunity to tell more of Cherokee County's rich history, and this year, we're calling on you to help establish the History Center as the central hub for future generations to learn about our shared past.
Your donation this Giving Tuesday will go towards our operating expenses to help keep the History Center running! Your support will help ensure we can continue to provide immersive exhibits, engaging programming, and entertaining special events centered on our rich history!
To keep History Cherokee's mission alive and thriving, we rely on a variety of support from people near and far. If you're looking for an engaging environment where you can meet great people and learn about our area, volunteering at a History Cherokee is a great place to start! From guiding groups through our Galleries to assisting with mailings and special events, there's many different ways to get involved.
If you've never been before, or you'd like to revisit to see our latest exhibit "Georgia's Good Neighbor: The Story of WCHK," plan a visit to the History Center this month! Not only will the cost of your General Admission support our work, but your visit will raise our attendance numbers and support our grant applications.
As a local small non-profit, we could always use help with spreading the word! Let your friends and family know why Cherokee County's history is important, why it needs to be preserved, and most importantly, what they can do this Giving Tuesday to support our work!
